Even though there’s a brand new BMW M4 on its way, the current model is still an extremely appealing proposition for those of us who appreciate fast and comfortable RWD sports cars.

Take this one for example, on display at the carmaker’s Abu Dhabi showroom. It features the Competition package and comes with a San Marino Blue paint job, and a full Sakhir Orange leather interior.

To get a sense of pricing, we can tell you that adding San Marino Blue to an M4 will cost you $550 in the US, while the full (includes parts of the dash and door panels among others) Sakhir Orange Merino leather cabin is a $2,550 optional extra.

We also spot several other options present on this spec, such as the 20-inch M Star-spoke forged wheels, which cost an extra $4,250 (but are standard on Competition models), or the M carbon ceramic brakes, a pricey $8,150 option.

Inside meanwhile we have carbon fiber trim with black chrome highlights which come at no extra cost, but the neck warmer is a $500 option, while the M double clutch transmission with drivelogic will set you back another $2,900. As for other goodies, we suspect the car also features a Head-up Display (it’s hard to tell), but if it does, know that it costs $1,100.

Now let’s talk about performance. With the addition of the Competition package (a $4,250 option), the M4’s power output goes from 425 HP (431 PS) to 444 HP (450 PS), which shaves around 0.1 seconds off your 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint time to 4.1 seconds.

The package also adds a specially-tuned Adaptive M Suspension with new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, as well as reconfigured driving modes. Meanwhile, the Active M Differential and DSC system are also tweaked.

Also, this car having black chrome exhausts, plus the black finish on the kidney grille, side gills and boot lid badge, are all down to the Competition pack offering you the extended Shadowline trim.
