A plethora of cars owned by the late property developer Richard Welkowitz will be offered for sale at Mecum Auctions’ Indy 2020 event running from June 23-28.
Welkowitz was the founder, owner and president of Blackford Development which ranked as the number one commercial real estate development firm in the Central Pennsylvania region for more than 15 consecutive years. Welkowitz passed away late last year and 19 of his vehicles will be sold, most of which have very low miles.

One of the main attractions of the auction is a 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO, 1 of just 599 examples ever produced and 1 of 125 to be exported to the United States. The car is painted in a gorgeous shade of Rosso Corsa and comes complete with a tan and black leather interior. Making this example particularly desirable is the fact that it has a mere 168 miles (270 km) on the odometer and will sell for a pretty penny.
Speaking of Ferrari 599s, there is a ‘regular’ GTB model also being sold and 1 of just 30 units produced with a six-speed manual transmission. Other Ferraris crossing the auction block include a 1989 Testarossa with 105 miles (169 km), a 1995 F512 M, 1999 550 Maranello with a six-speed and 567 miles (912 km), a 2015 F12 Berlinetta with 78 miles (125 km), and a 2007 F430 Spider with a six-speed and 441 miles (709 km) on the clock.
Also a highlight of the auction is a 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe, one of just 27 left-hand drive examples and formerly owned by actor Tony Curtis. Others include a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversario Roadster, 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, and a 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster.
