A beautifully restored 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi has hit eBay with a Buy It Now price of $349,001. That’s a lot of money with this is no ordinary 512 BBi with the listing comparing it to a Porsche 911 restored by Singer.
The restoration was handled by a shop in Chicago that saw the Italian sports car completely disassembled before each and every part, including even the nuts and bolts, were restored and refinished in what was reportedly a “no expense spared” restoration. In fact, the car is said to be even better than it was when it left the factory as many of the plastic parts originally used by Ferrari have been replaced with billet aluminum or carbon fiber parts.

One key improvement made to the car relates to the cooling system with a custom aluminum radiator fitted as well as enlarged SPAL fans. In addition, the air conditioning system has been totally rebuilt while added sound deadening and modern heat insulation means the cabin remains a pleasant place to sit even on long summer journeys in the blazing heat.
Significant upgrades have also been made to the steering, suspension, and braking systems. For example, there are new six-piston brake calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear that clamp down on slotted brake discs. There is also a set of Koni adjustable shocks and springs to lower the ride height and improve the handling.
The 4.9-liter naturally-aspirated flat-12 engine powering the car has been left untouched and in its day, was good for 360 hp at 6,200 rpm and 333 lb-ft (451 Nm) of torque at 4,600 rpm. It has 17,000 miles (27,358 km) under its belt.
