While SSC has done a pretty good job at keeping the starting price of the Tuatara a secret, it’s believed to be available from somewhere in the region of $1.6-$2 million.
This is way more than most people would ever be able to afford to blow on a set of wheels, and the American company knows it, so they have confirmed to TopGear, through the voice of the company’s boss, Jerod Shelby, that they are working on a cheaper hypercar, a ‘little brother’ to the Tuatara, if you may.

“It’s been a long, challenging and rewarding road to get to where we are today, with the production of the Tuatara package. But the original plan is still in place”, said Shelby. “To follow up the Tuatara with a ‘little brother’ model that carries a similar DNA in appearance and performance, but scaled down and priced in a range where a much larger portion of the population and can purchase and enjoy it.”
So, what else do we know about it, other that it’s in the making? Nothing actually, but it will have a lower output than the menacing Tuatara, whose 5.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces a jaw-dropping 1,750 HP on E85, and ‘only’ 1,350 HP with 91 octane fuel in the tank. The official estimate speaks of the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint taking around 2.5 seconds, but the biggest news is the top speed, as it’s believed to be able to go past the 300 mph (186 km/h) mark. You know what this means: Bugatti’s top speed record of 304.77 mph (490.484 km/h), set last year, is in danger.
