The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is America’s mid-engine sports car for the masses, but it’s not quite an American exotic.

However, a company is looking to change that as they’re developing scissor doors for the model.

While the renderings are pretty crude, Eikon Motorsports says their upcoming kit will include two gas shocks, two “vertical doors” and all related mounting hardware. The listing goes on to describe the package as a “bolt on hinge kit” that uses the factory bolt pattern.

There’s no word on when the package will be available, but the company is accepting pre-orders for $2,999. That price includes the kit, installation and a lifetime warranty.

That’s not exactly cheap, but the company says the kit will likely retail for around $2,899 and, with installation, it should cost approximately $4,300. As a result, customers could save over $1,300 by pre-ordering.

While we haven’t come across Eikon Motorsports before, the company apparently specializes in what they call “Lambo Doors.” They offer a number of different kits including packages for everything from the Audi A4 to the Toyota Tundra.

Since the package just changes how the doors open, it shouldn’t have any impact on the Corvette’s performance. As a result, the base model should continue to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in three seconds flat thanks to its 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 490 hp (365 kW / 497 PS) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.

The Z51 should be a bit quick as it has 495 hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and run the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 121 mph (195 km/h).
