Kia has made a series of updates to its Sportage range in the UK, starting with the addition of a new ‘3’ grade. The new model range is on sale now, with prices kicking off from £23,445 ($29,145) for the entry-level Sportage ‘2’.
Every new Sportage model comes with a frameless 8-inch touchscreen sat-nav system, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth and DAB digital radio.
Other standard features include alloy wheels, heated front and outer rear seats, dual automatic air conditioning, privacy glass, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensing front wipers, cruise control, automatic light control, plus electrically folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors.

The new ‘3’ spec comes with a panoramic sunroof, front wiper de-icer, black leather upholstery, 10-way driver’s and 8-way passenger’s power adjustable seat, high-gloss center fascia, aluminum door scuff plates, Stop/Start with Smart Entry system, heated steering wheel, 4.2-inch gauge cluster display and an electronic parking brake.
On the outside, the Sportage ‘3’ gets front parking sensors, black wheel arch body mouldings, side sills with chrome insert, silver-painted front and rear skid plates, LED bi-function headlights, LED rear lights and Blind-Sport Collision Warning (BCW).
As for engine range, there are three units available, starting with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated 130 HP (132 PS) GDi petrol unit, followed by a 1.6-liter T-GDi version (turbocharged), good for 174 HP (177 PS) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque. The diesel engine meanwhile is a 1.6-liter CRDi mild-hybrid, producing 134 HP (136 PS).
All engines can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT automatic, while all-wheel drive is also available.
