A young guy riding a scooter in Latvia discovered the hard way what can go wrong when trying to pop a wheelie.

The incident happened on April 27 in the city of Vidzeme and was captured on a trio of security cameras. The first of these security cameras caught the moment the young rider lifted the front wheel off the ground while the other two caught the crash itself.

The rider can be seen holding the wheelie for several hundred feet down the road before losing his balance and falling off the back.

To make matters worse and add to the embarrassment and shame we’re sure he felt, the scooter crashed down to the ground with its throttle pinned open. It then righted itself and careened straight into a window of a nearby building, smashing it.

It remains unclear if the rider was charged but we suspect authorities quickly arrived on the scene. Writing in the description of the video, the Patrol Police Division of the Vidzeme Regional Office of the State Police urged motorcyclists and scooter/moped riders to be considerate of those around them and to not engage in reckless stunts.

Authorities added that with Europe soon entering the summer season, more motorcyclists and moped riders will be hitting the streets and said they will perform checks to make sure riders are wearing the proper protective clothing and helmets. They did not say anything about preventing them from trying to pop a wheelie because, as we all know, that’s impossible.
