Two individuals have been arrested in South Los Angeles after leading police on a lengthy chase on Friday.

The chase started after a report of a stolen vehicle. A helicopter from ABC 7 quickly started filming the chase involving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck for well over an hour.

It is reported that the male driver and female passenger circled around the area of S. Central Avenue with at least three Los Angeles police cruisers initially in pursuit. At one stage of the chase, police deployed a spike stripe along a residential road but footage shared on Instagram shows the quick-thinking driver expertly sliding the pickup to a halt and turning around before hitting the spike strip in a scene fitting of a Hollywood movie.

As the chase continued, the driver hit the southbound 110 Freeway and a few minutes later, the pickup came to a sliding halt after the driver botched taking a freeway exit. Not deterred, the suspect decided it would be a good idea to travel down the wrong side of the freeway, driving along the shoulder and narrowly avoiding head-on collisions with many vehicles. The Chevrolet ultimately slammed into a sedan as the driver headed for an exit.

In the final moments of the chase, the driver of another pickup truck blocked the path of the man. The driver could be seen spinning up the rear wheels of the truck in an attempt to flee and was able to eventually squeeze his way through. However, the damaged tire drastically reduced his speed and before long, he was forced to stop and both he and the passenger attempted to flee on foot, but were ultimately arrested at the scene.
