With a starting price believed to be in the region of $1.6-$2 million and a limited production run of just 100 units, very few will ever get close enough to the SSC Tuatara to enjoy its greatness.
Nonetheless, the lucky few who have already signed or will sign their names on the dotted line will get one of the best driving machines money can buy, with jaw-dropping amounts of power and the indirect promise of a record-breaking top speed run.

Until they will get their hands on the Tuatara, SSC North American continues to build up the hype with a series of videos that show it in different environments, performing all sorts of tasks. We’ve already seen it sprinting from 60 to 120 mph (96-123 km/h) in under 3 seconds earlier this month, and now it’s time to explore those sexy lines and take a seat in it in the latest clip released by the company.
According to SSC, the Tuatara’s 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint will be somewhere in the region of 2.5 seconds and its top speed will exceed 300 mph (483 km/h). Power comes from a twin-turbo 5.9-liter V8 that produces 1,350 HP on 91 octane fuel and a whopping 1,750 HP on E85. SSC continues to use the ‘lifebeginsat300’ and ‘yearofthetuatara’ hashtags, suggesting perhaps that they will attempt a top speed run to break the 300 mph barrier later this year.
