The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is getting a significant price cut thanks to a new entry-level trim featuring a four-cylinder engine.
While the 2020 model was offered exclusively with a 3.6-liter V6 which pumped out 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 271 lb-ft (367 Nm) of torque, the 2021 model gains a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine like the Chinese-spec crossover.
Autoblog says it carries over the XT4 and produces 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system for an additional $2,000.

The four-cylinder engine is available exclusively on the new XT6 Luxury and pricing will reportedly start at $48,990 including destination. That’s a $4,700 price cut compared to the 2020 XT6 Premium Luxury which started at $53,690.
Of course, the savings also mean more modest levels of equipment. There’s no word on specifics, but the XT6 Luxury will have heated leatherette seats, brushed aluminum trim and a tri-zone climate control system. Those features will be joined by an 8-inch infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The entry-level Luxury trim isn’t the only new addition for 2021 as the crossover will now come standard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other updates include a new 20-inch wheel design for the XT6 Sport and an expanded color palette that with Dark Moon Blue Metallic, Infrared Tintcoat and Wilder.
The 2021 Cadillac XT6 will arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall.
