Mercedes introduced the 2021 GLA in December, and now the company has announced U.S. pricing will start at $36,230.
Costing approximately $2,000 more than its predecessor, the redesigned GLA is set to arrive at dealerships shortly.
Despite its entry-level status, the GLA comes equipped with LED lighting units, a power liftgate and 18-inch alloy wheels. An assortment of options will be available including a panorama glass roof, AMG and Night packages, and 19- or 20-inch wheels.

Moving into the cabin, there’s power front seats with MB-Tex upholstery and a memory function. Buyers will also find a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a 7-inch digital instrument and a 7-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Among the options are larger 10.25-inch displays, a 64-color ambient lighting system and a wireless smartphone charger. Customers can also order heated / ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, and wood or “carbon structure” trim. Unfortunately, rather basic items such as auto-dimming mirrors and a garage door opener are extra cost items.
Speaking of options, there’s a $1,700 Driver Assistance Package which adds Active Distance Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Brake Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist. It also includes Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Change Assist.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 221 hp (165 kW / 224 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which enables the rear-wheel drive GLA 250 to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.8 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). In terms of efficiency, drivers can expect 25 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined.
All-wheel drive is available for an additional $2,000 and it drops the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 6.6 seconds. However, it also lowers the fuel economy rating to 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined.
Note: Prices exclude a $1,050 destination and delivery fee
