Every Mercedes-AMG fan and their grandmother is waiting for the Affalterbach company to introduce the long-overdue GT R Black Series, but in the meantime, they can cure their blues with this tuned GT S.
The German sports turned super car comes from Senner Tuning, which has fitted the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with their Stage 1 optimization package. It includes a K&N sports air filter, flap exhaust system and software tune, and has unleashed 623 HP (632 PS / 465 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.
Aw That’s Cute: Mercedes-AMG GT S Jumps The Gun Against Bugatti
That’s not a crazy amount of power compared to the stock AMG GT S, which has 515 HP (522 PS / 384 kW) and 494 lb-ft (670 Nm) of torque. Still, it’s more than enough to shave a few tenths of a second from the standard model’s 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time of 3.8 seconds and perhaps lift the top speed to in excess of 193 mph (310 km/h).
Unless you’re familiar with the OEM wheels, you probably cannot tell this AMG GT S apart from the stock one, although it does ride on 10-spoke rims, 9×20-inch at the front and 10.5×21-inch at the back, wrapped in 265/30 and 305/25 Pirelli P Zero tires, respectively.
The final upgrade comes in the form of the KW adjustable springs, which were optimized to work with the factory damping system. The springs can lower the car by 0-1 in (0-25 mm) on the front and 0.4-1.2 in (10-30 mm) on the rear axle, and join with the extra oomph and aforementioned exhaust system complete with the flap module that can be linked to the standard tailpipes for a more discreet appearance.
