If you’re in the market for an estate car that offers up decent performance, there is a wide array of options to choose from. This clip pits the BMW M340i xDrive Touring, Mercedes-AMG C43 Touring, Audi S4 TDI Avant, and Volvo V60 Polestar against each other.
While you could make an argument that none of these cars feels at home at a circuit and that owners will never take them to track days, it is the best way to determine which is the fastest and, as it turns out, the results are quite clear.
Taking out the first position was the BMW M340i xDrive Touring setting a time of 1:39.71. The Bimmer is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six delivering 369 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque and was sitting on a set of sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for its lap.

Taking second place was the Mercedes-AMG C43 Touring with a time of 1:41.17 while using Continental Sport Contact 5P tires. It is driven by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 385 hp and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque.
Next up was the Audi S4 TDI Avant recording a best lap of 1:43.05. It was fitted with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo tires and is the only one of the bunch to use a diesel engine, more specifically a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 342 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm).
Finishing in last place was the Volvo V60 Touring with a disappointing time of 1:46.22 with its Michelin Super Sport tires. Featuring the marque’s T8 eAWD plug-in hybrid powertrain, it delivers 415 hp and 494 lb-ft (670 Nm) of torque. It offers good straight-line performance, but clearly hasn’t been as finely tuned for track driving as the others.
