What you’re looking at might be a 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback but it has been comprehensively modified and is unlike any other example we’ve ever seen.

This Mustang is the work of Classic Detroit which had its roof chopped and the body sectioned to take nearly half a foot out of the profile. Regardless of whether or not you think a classic Mustang should be modified like this, the body changes certainly make for a very unique-looking car.

Classic Detroit tried to respect the car’s history as much as possible by leaving some parts such as the chrome front bumper, rear bumper, and the turn signals on the back of the hood scoop. The car also sports a red stripping package inspired by the 1970 Mustang Boss 302.

Elsewhere, there are many custom parts. These include 17-inch Coys alloy wheels and a distinct blacked-out panel at the rear that houses a bespoke light bar. The cabin of the Mustang restomod sports a set of retro seats with red inserts, an AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning and a sports steering wheel with a tilt function.

Powering the muscle car is a 428 cubic-inch V8, and while we don’t have any horsepower or torque figures, we know it is paired with a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. Other key modifications made include a Mopar-style torsion bar front end and an upgraded trailing arm setup from a 2001 Ford Mustang in the rear. The car also has power steering and four-wheel disc brakes.

The listing on Streetside classics reveals the car has 1,052 miles on the clock (we presume since the modifications were made) and an asking price of $116,995.
