The Datsun 240Z is arguably one of the best sports cars to have come out of The Land of the Rising Sun.
Also known as the Nissan Fairlady Z, it was put together at the Hiratsuka plant from 1969 to 1978, and its value today in the used car maker usually varies from anywhere between $5,000 and $50,000, dictated by the overall condition, number of miles on the odometer and so on.

The 240Z was only offered as a coupe, but in this imaginary restomod by AbimelecDesign, it was envisioned as a roadster. The illustrations show the sports car with an open top view of the sky above, a Shelby Cobra-style windscreen, wider fenders, a custom boot design and a set of five-spoke wheels, with the classic JDM-style mirrors placed on each side of the hood.
Back in real life, Nissan is preparing a 240Z-inspired sports coupe
While the old 240Z was illustrated as a roadster, Nissan is currently working on a new generation Z sports car. The teasing game has already begun, with the coupe partially revealing its styling that’s inspired by the 240Z.

Based on a newer platform, power is understood to come from a 3.0-liter V6 engine, equipped with two turbochargers. It should be good for around 400 HP, directed to the rear wheels – hopefully, with the option of a manual transmission, but we won’t be surprised if it only comes with an automatic.
The new Z car, which is rumored to be named 400Z, will be ready for the 2021 model year. This means that we will likely see it before the end of the year.
