The Corvette C8 might be America’s mid-engine sports car for the masses, but it’s taking a European vacation next year.
According to Chevrolet, the C8 will arrive in the second half of 2021 and be better equipped than the American variant.
In Europe, the Corvette will come standard in LT2 trim and feature the Z51 Performance Package. The latter includes an adjustable suspension, an electronic limited slip differential and a Brembo braking system. Other highlights include a performance exhaust, optimized aerodynamics and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The model will also come nicely equipped with a head-up display, a performance data recorder and an 8-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation. Other highlights include heated / ventilated leather seats, a 14-speaker Bose audio system and a rear camera mirror.
Buyers can also expect a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a keyless entry system and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. There should also be a heated steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger and an assortment of driver assistance systems.
When the car first crosses the Atlantic, it will be offered as a Launch Edition. The special edition is based on the range-topping LT3 trim and Chevrolet says it will be “distinguished by a number of exterior details that further emphasize the … Corvette’s dynamic design.”
While full specifications haven’t been announced, the company did confirm the Launch Edition will come standard with Magnetic Ride Control. It should also echo the US-spec Corvette LT3 which has a leather-wrapped interior with suede accents as well as GT2 sport seats with carbon fiber trim.
Since all Euro-spec Corvettes come with the Z51 Performance Package, the car’s mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 engine will produce 495 hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which should enable the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.9 seconds.
The coupe and convertible will arrive in Europe at the same time and the car will be offered in left- or right-hand drive configurations. In the United Kingdom, the Launch Edition will cost £81,700 for the coupe and £87,110 for the convertible.
