For quite some time, the Tesla Model X was the only all-electric SUV on the market but in recent years, a handful of similarly luxurious rivals have hit the market, with one of them being the 2020 Audi E-Tron Sportback.

As the name implies, the E-Tron Sportback is very much the same car as the regular E-Tron albeit sports a newly-designed roof and looks a touch sleeker. Autogefühl recently had the opportunity to test it out and were left suitably impressed.

In Europe, the E-Tron Sportback is available in two configurations starting off with the base 50 Quattro. This variant features two electric motors delivering a combined 308 hp and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque and fed by a 71 kWh battery pack. Audi quotes a driving range of 215 miles (347 km) on the WLTP cycle in this version and a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 6.8 seconds.

Sitting above the 50 Quattro in the range is the 55 Quattro that is rated at 355 hp and 414 lb-ft (561 Nm) but can produce as much as 402 hp and 490 lb-ft (664 Nm) of torque for up to eight seconds in boost mode. The added grunt results in a 0-62 mph time of 5.7 seconds and thanks to an enlarged 95 kWh battery pack, this version can travel 277 miles (445 km) on the WLTP cycle.

While the E-Tron Sportback looks better than the standard model, the sloped roof does reduce headroom by 20 mm (0.7-inches) while trunk space drops from 655 liters (23 cubic-feet) to 615 liters (21.7 cubic-feet).
