It was only a matter of time before Fiat pulled the wraps off the hatchback version of the new 500 EV, following the earlier reveal of the model’s convertible variant and that time is now.
Just like the convertible model, the new electric reincarnation of the Fiat 500 will be initially offered in the special ‘La Prima’ edition, featuring a panoramic glass sunroof and offered in three exclusive paint options: pearlescent Ocean Green; metallic Mineral Grey; and three-layer Celestial Blue.

Standard kit will also include features like full LED headlights, a set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome-plated inserts, and eco-leather upholstery on the seats and dash.
The electric powertrain of the new Fiat 500 Hatchback combines a 42 kWh battery pack with a 116 HP electric motor, giving it an official driving range of 199 miles (320 km) per the WLTP cycle. 0-62 mph (100 km/h) is a matter of 9 seconds, with 0-31 mph (50 km/h) coming in 3.1 seconds, while top speed is limited to 93 mph (149 km/h).
Fiat has also fitted the new 500 EV with an onboard 85kW fast-charge system; the new Italian electric model can charge its battery up to 80 percent in just 35 minutes with the use of a fast charger as the car is capable of both AC and DC charging.
The Italian carmaker will also offer two home charging solutions to customers; the first one is an easyWallbox system than can simply be connected to a home outlet without the need for professional installation, capable of charging a new 500 with up to 3 kW of power. The system can also be upgraded to 7.4 kW, enabling a full charge at home in just over six hours.
The new Fiat 500 is also the first model in its segment to feature a Level 2 autonomous driving feature, as well as FCA’s first model to offer the new UConnect5 infotainment system that runs through a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Customers can place an order for the new Fiat 500 ‘La Prima’ now, with prices starting from €34,900 in Italy, including easyWallbox, and from £26,995 in the UK, including the local Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG) and easyWallbox.
