Owners of the Ford Mustang Mach-E in the US will receive one more perk with the purchase of the upcoming electric SUV as Electrify America will give them 250 kilowatt-hours of free charging on their fast-charger network.

Electrify America’s free charging offer is the equivalent of around three to five full DC fast charges, depending on the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s battery size; models fitted with the extended-range 98.8 kWh battery pack the free charging offer is equal to more than three fill-ups, while those fitted with the standard 75.7 kWh unit can get more than five fill-ups.

With that said, it’s important to mention that the company defines a “fill-up” as fast-charging your EV from 10 to 80 percent. The Mustang Mach-E will be able to do so in around 45 minutes when hooked to a fast charger.

The new offer comes in addition to the two years of free access to the FordPass Charging Network for easy pay-as-you-go charging. The FordPass Charging Network offers more than 13,500 charging stations and almost 40,000 individual plugs in North America. Electrify America, which is part of the FordPass Network, claims to offer the largest number of public fast chargers on the market today.

“One of the main opportunities we have is educating our potential customers about road trip readiness,” said Matt Stover, Ford director of charging, energy services, and business development. “The 250 kilowatt-hours of complimentary charging we’re offering through FordPass Rewards and the FordPass Charging Network with Electrify America will give our Mustang Mach-E customers confidence in their ability to plan trips, no matter their destination.”

In addition, Ford is also making the Connected Charge Station home wallbox charger now available, with prices starting from $799 MSRP. Customers can have the wallbox charger ordered from an EV-certified Ford dealer and have it delivered before their Mustang Mach-E arrives.
