There’s no shortage of customized Land Rover Defenders these days, and East Coast Defender is making sure of that with the creation of yet another example of the iconic British SUV.
Based on the three-door 90 model, it was named the ‘Project Family Vacation’, but unlike other builds signed by the Californian tuner, this one does not feature room for up to 9. It can only seat four, two at the front and another two on the individual rear seats that can be folded up to increase the cargo area.

Speaking of the interior, the seats have been wrapped in leather, with white stitching in a diamond pattern, and the same material can be found on the center armrest. The dashboard features wood inserts and has an analogue clock between the two middle air vents, while the steering wheel and gauges sport a custom look. As a modern touch, this Defender 90 has been equipped with an aftermarket stereo system, complete with a touchscreen infotainment system that supports smartphone integration.
Much like the cockpit, the exterior has remained rather simple, yet eye-catching. The British SUV is finished in Coniston Green, contrasted by the 8-spoke steel wheels painted in satin black and shod in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, and has steel bumpers at both ends, trail lights next to the roof rack, additional lights mounted in front of the grille, a winch and a spare wheel on the hood. The suspension and brakes are aftermarket and the engine is a 6.2-liter LS3 sourced from a Corvette and paired to a five-speed manual transmission.
