The Lucid Air was supposed to premiere this spring at the 2020 New York Auto Show, but the coronavirus pandemic postponed the unveiling.
Now, the company has come up with another debut date: September 9. The electric luxury sedan will be unveiled during an online event, along with new details on pricing and specifications. A challenger to the likes of the Tesla Model S, the Air will be able to cover more than 400 miles (644 km) with the battery fully charged.
Previous details have also revealed the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint, which will take less than 2.5 seconds, as well as the top speed exceeding 200 mph (322 km/h).

Besides announcing the official unveiling date of the car, Lucid has reported that they have resumed their beta prototype testing program. A fleet of Airs was featured on a video shared online and can be seen leaving the headquarters.
Speaking of which, the electric startup is “in the midst of a phased return to our Silicon Valley headquarters in accordance with local and state guidelines, along with our own strict protocols designed to protect the health and safety of all Lucid employees.”
On a related note, construction of their EV production facility, in Casa Grande, Arizona, continues, and they are on schedule for inaugurating it later this year. The buildings have been enclosed by roofs and walls and they have already installed the major manufacturing components and new production equipment over the past month.
