Mercedes has opened the order books for the new AMG GLA 35 and GLA 45 models in its home market in Germany.

AMG’s latest compact performance crossovers are priced from €54,204 ($61,230) in the case of the GLA 35 4Matic and from €62,772 ($70,909) for the GLA 45 4Matic+, while the GLA 45 S 4Matic+ comes with a price tag of €68,365 ($77,233).

All three models use the same powertrains with the rest of AMG’s 35, 45, and 45 S models, meaning a 2.0-liter turbo paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, placing them among the most powerful models in the segment.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit producing 302 HP (306 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Combined with the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, the GLA 35 is capable of hitting 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.1 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

Those seeking a bit more oomph from their small crossover can always take a look at the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45; power here is rated at 382 HP (387 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. The all-wheel-drive system is also different, as it features the so-called AMG Torque Control that distributes power to the rear wheels individually and more precisely for better traction. 0-62 mph (100 km/h) comes in 4.4 seconds, while top speed is still limited to 150 mph (250 km/h).

Finally, there’s the range-topping variant that offers more power than a Ferrari 360 in a family-friendly package: the GLA 45 S. The 2.0-liter turbo engine is further boosted to 415 HP (421 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque, knocking a tenth off the 0-62 time, at 4.4 seconds, and topping out at 168 mph (270 km/h).
