PSA Groupe continues the gradual roll-out of its electric passenger vans to make sure each of them gets sufficient exposure.
Following the Peugeot e-Traveller and Citroën ë-SpaceTourer, now we get to see the Zafira-e Life, in both Opel and Vauxhall (photoshopped) guises. Topping the Zafira Life lineup, the Zafira-e Life offers exactly the same electric drivetrains as its Peugeot and Citroën siblings.
The standard choice is a 50 kWh battery offering a WLTP-rated driving range of 230 km (143 miles). Customers also have the option of a 75 kWh battery which extends range to 330 km (205 miles).

Packaged under the load compartment, the battery does not affect luggage capacity and further lowers the center of gravity for more precise cornering and better wind stability. Using 100 kW of direct current (DC), charging the Zafira-e Life’s 50 kWh battery to 80 percent takes around 30 minutes (45 minutes for the 75 kWh battery). Depending on the market and infrastructure, the Zafira-e Life comes with either a three-phase 11 kW or a single-phase 7.4 kW on-board charger as standard.
Regardless of the battery pack, the Zafira-e Life is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor delivering 100 kW (134 HP / 136 HP) of power and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of maximum torque. The powertrain enables an electronically controlled top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph), which is just about fast enough for Autobahn cruising while preserving the range.
As with the ICE-powered Zafira Life, the electric variant offers up to nine seats and is available in three lengths: Small, Medium, and Large. As a result, customers can have the Zafira-e Life in an array of configurations. Meanwhile, the optional trailer hitch allows the towing of trailers with a maximum capacity of 1,000 kg (2,204 lbs).
Orders books will open this summer in Europe and the UK, with deliveries following later in the year.
