Fresh off the new BMW 4-Series being unveiled, the newly-styled two-door has been imagined in M4 and 4-Series Convertible forms.

Ever since the BMW Concept 4 was unveiled last year, we’ve had a very good idea of what the new 4-Series, and future variants, would look like so we weren’t at all surprised to see the car adopt a set of huge kidney grilles. But, how will these kidney grilles translate onto the forthcoming M4 and 4-Series Convertible?

X-Tomi Design’s creations, in particular the illustration of the new M4, is surprisingly attractive. Finished here in a lovely shade of blue, it doesn’t look as offensive as we thought it would based on recent spy shots and previous renderings. While the kidney grille is still too large for our liking, it is certainly less in-your-face when blacked-out like this rather than featuring silver trim like lesser 4-Series models. The forthcoming M4 could also be one of the rare vehicles that actually looks better with a front license plate because it effectively breaks the grille up into upper and lower sections.

Beyond the grille, the M4 pictured includes a set of sporty wheels with silver and black spokes, gold brake calipers, and sharp air intakes.

As for the 4-Series Convertible, its design is a little more questionable, to say the least. With the silver trim, the grille is too overt and the air intakes are simply too big and overly complex, just as they are on the 4-Series Coupe. The convertible model will come with an electrically operated cloth top and is expected to be introduced by next year.
