Last weekend, protestors and looters took to the streets of Los Angeles, as well as dozens of other cities across the United States, to protest the death of George Floyd on May 25 in Minneapolis.

The video below from YouTuber and car photographer effspot provides us with a shocking look at what happened in The City of Angels.

The vast majority of the video shows looters breaking into stores and stealing anything they could find. At one stage, looters smash through the glass windows and doors at an Alexander McQueen, stealing many expensive items from the fashion outlet. For car enthusiasts like ourselves, however, things really hit home when the YouTuber stumbles across a black Porsche 911 GT3 RS that was also destroyed.

The story of how the Porsche ended up like this is unclear but we can clearly see that it has been wrecked. The roof has been caved in, most likely after a person or people jumped on it. In addition, the rear window is smashed, the side windows have been smashed and it has been tagged with orange graffiti. The passenger door has also been left open and the hazard lights can be seen flashing.

Not only is it shocking to see a 911 wrecked like this, but it is rather surprising looters didn’t steal it and just left it sitting in the road. At one point in the clip, someone can be heard saying the car has no key, indicating the owner may have fled the scene with the key so no one could steal the car.

It’s hard to be entirely sure that this actually is a GT3 RS based on the video or instead, a lesser 911 model ‘souped-up’ to look like one. For starters, black 997.1-generation GT3 RS models are very rare and left the factory adorned with bright orange graphics which this car doesn’t have. It is also missing the front splitter of the GT3 RS. On the other hand, it does feature a GT3 RS rear wing as well as gloss black wheels and yellow brake calipers.
