Ford is gearing up to unveil the 2021 F-150 tonight, and it appears Ram wants to steal their thunder as they’ve released the first teaser video for the upcoming Rebel TRX.

While the video doesn’t show much besides a cloud of dirt, Ram confirmed the high-performance pickup will be unveiled late this summer. That suggests the truck could debut sometime around September.

Regardless, the model was previewed by the 2016 Rebel TRX concept which was billed as the “most powerful factory-engineered half-ton pickup ever.” It had a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine developing 575 hp (429 kW / 583 PS), but the production model is expected to be even more powerful as it should use the same engine as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

In the Trackhawk, the supercharged V8 produces 707 hp (527 kW / 717 PS) and 645 lb-ft (875 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).

Of course, the Ram Rebel TRX is more off-road focused as it features massive tires, a specially-tuned suspension and unique styling inside and out.

Speaking of the latter, the cabin will be outfitted with two-tone leather seats with TRX embroidery on the backrests. The truck will also have a center console mounted shifter and an Easter egg poking fun at the Ford F-150 Raptor.

Ford’s performance-oriented truck is the TRX’s closest competitor, although the current model uses a relatively pedestrian, in comparison, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque.
