SSC continues to tease the world with short clips of the almighty Tuatara hypercar and this particular video is one of the most exhilarating.
In this latest video, the niche automaker provides an early glimpse into the Tuatara’s ‘track mode’ that sees the exhaust spit out massive flames on every gear shift. If this video isn’t enough to convince you that the Tuatara means business, nothing will.
When drivers enable track mode in the Tuatara, the ride height at the front drops by 2.74-inches (69 mm) while also dropping by 3.25-inches (82.5 mm) at the rear. Enabling track mode also reduces shift times from the robotized manual 7-speed transmission and results in huge flames firing out of the exhaust on every up shift.

Slotted beneath the gorgeous bodywork of the SSC Tuatara is a 5.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 1,350 hp when running on 91 octane fuel and a mammoth 1,750 hp on E85.
Unlike the Bugatti Chiron that features an advanced all-wheel drive system, the Tuatara sends all of its grunt through the rear wheels. While that may give it some trouble initially getting off the line, SSC has already shown the car can run from 60 – 120 mph (96 – 193 km/h) in a mere 2.5 seconds. The SSC Tuatara will allegedly exceed 300 mph (482 km/h) meaning it could join the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ in that exclusive club if SSC is able to find a road to conduct a top speed run.
