The Lamborghini Aventador is basically almost a decade old, but it remains just as appealing as ever and is an absolute thrill to drive, as this recent video from AutoTopNL proves.
The Aventador featured is an S Roadster model in gloss black. In times gone by, it would be sacrilegious to buy a droptop version of a supercar like the Aventador, but because the chassis is so rigid, chopping off the roof does very little to impact the overall handling characteristics and dynamics of the car.

In this clip, we are initially shown just how quick the Aventador is from a standstill. Of course, you probably already know how quick the flagship Lamborghini is off the line, but what is interesting is how, even with Thrust Mode enabled, the all-wheel drive Aventador loves to spin up its rear wheels when accelerating off the line.
Shortly after putting the car through an acceleration test, AutoTopNL headed out onto an unrestricted section of the Autobahn to see how the car performs in a straight line. It was pushed to an indicated 209 mph (336 km/h) on the speedometer, which was later verified as being 201 mph (323 km/h) on a GPS. The high-speed run was done with the car’s removable roof panels affixed in place.
Lamborghini officially claims that the Aventador S Roadster maxes out at 217 mph (350 km/h), exactly the same as the Coupe – but we guess 201 mph on a public road is already too much…
