Volkswagen has released a teaser video previewing the facelifted Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake roughly a day before they are released at 10 a.m CEST / 4 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Try as it might to keep the tweaked Arteon under wraps, Volkswagen wasn’t able to prevent photos of the Shooting Brake variant being leaked out by Chinese media last week. While that leak didn’t include the Arteon sedan/fastback, it did confirm our suspicions that the styling modifications made to the facelifted model are minimal.
One of the most apparent modifications will be alterations to the car’s LED daytime running lights as this teaser previews a front light bar, although the overall shape of the headlights doesn’t appear to have been changed.

It is hard to comment on any other styling alterations just yet and although some may be disappointed there haven’t been more tweaks made, the fact remains that the Arteon has always been a good looking car and doesn’t really need any visual updates.
Beyond the exterior, it is understood the new Arteon will receive the company’s latest MIB3 infotainment system and also get a complex semi-autonomous driving system that will work at speeds of up to 130 mph (210 km/h).
Arguably the most exciting update made to the Arteon family will be the arrival of an R variant. Few details about this model are known at the moment but it will most likely get the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the Golf R with a touch over 300 hp.
Stay tuned to CarScoops over the coming hours prior to the global premiere of the 2021 Volkswagen Arteon.
