The blackout trend continues as Ram has introduced the 2020 Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition.
Billed as a “sophisticated, monochromatic appearance package that appeals to a significant segment of luxury truck buyers,” the model has a black grille, black door handles and black headlight bezels.
The dark theme continues elsewhere as there are black mirrors, matte black badges and black aluminum wheels. Speaking of the latter, the wheels measure 20-inches on standard models and 17-inches on duallies.

There doesn’t appear to be any interior changes, but the range-topping Limited trim comes nicely equipped with heated / ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and a 12-inch Uconnect infotainment system. The model also has a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a 10-speaker premium audio system, leather and genuine wood trim.
Under the hood, there is an assortment of petrol and diesel engines. A 6.4-liter HEMI V8 comes standard and it produces 410 hp (306 kW / 416 PS) and 429 lb-ft (582 Nm) of torque.
Customers can also opt for a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six. In base form, the engine develops 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS) and 850 lb-ft (1,152 Nm) of torque. There’s also a high output version with 400 hp (276 kW / 406 PS) and 1,000 lb-ft (1,356 Nm) of torque.
The Black Edition is available with rear- and four-wheel drive, and can tow up to 35,100 lbs (15,921 kg) when properly equipped.
The Black Edition is available in 2500 and 3500 configurations, and will be arriving at dealerships in the third quarter. Pricing starts at $62,745 which is just $1,095 more than the Ram 2500 Limited.
