Audi is putting the final touches on the upcoming RS3 model, which will once again be available in both hatchback and sedan body styles. The latest spy shots give us another look at the latter, which will take the fight straight at the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45.
As we already know, power will still be provided by the 2.5-liter five-pot turbo engine, which will be paired to a dual-clutch automatic transmission exclusively, as well as to a beefed-up version of the Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The sonorous unit produces 395 HP (400 PS) under the bonnet of the RS Q3. Some rumors indicate that it will be boosted to around 420 HP for the standard RS3 and up to 450 HP for the RS3 Performance in order to steal the title of the most powerful model in the compact segment from the AMG 45 models.
The test car also shows us just how much wider the fenders of the production RS3 will be, as it features the narrower front bumper from the ‘normal’ A3, leaving a sizeable gap with the flared arches. For what is worth, we have already seen the RS3’s wider front bumper in a previous scoop. Like the previous RS3, the new model will feature wider tracks both front and rear for better handling.
The interior of the new RS3 will feature the usual Audi Sport touches, meaning a pair of more aggressive bucket seats, special trim options, and model-specific screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The Audi RS3 Sedan will be the only RS3 set to cross the Atlantic, as the hatchback variant will remain a Euro-only affair. Audi is expected to offer the choice of different top speed limiters, as it does with other RS models, with the more powerful version capable of reaching 174 mph (280 km/h).
The new 2021 Audi RS3 is expected to be revealed late this year or in early 2021.
