BMW is gearing up to introduce the iX3 as the company has kicked off a teaser campaign on social media.
In a series of Facebook and Instagram posts, the automaker said they’re “about to shed light” on the first-ever iX3. Of course, the teasers are pretty pointless as BMW briefly showed the crossover in March and it was fully leaked in May.
Like the iX3 concept, the production model has a unique front fascia with a fully enclosed grille. The crossover also features a modified front bumper with vertical air intakes.

The modest styling changes continue further back as the iX3 has aerodynamic wheels and i-branded front fender vents. The rear bumper is also new as the exhaust cut outs have been replaced by diffusers.
The changes will be more than skin deep as the iX3 will be outfitted with a 74 kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This setup will give the crossover a range of approximately 273 miles (440 km) in the WLTP cycle.
Production is slated to kick off later this summer and the first deliveries will occur before the end of the year. However, it won’t be sold in the United States as originally planned. BMW has stayed quiet about that decision, but it appears the crossover’s modest range wasn’t enough to satisfy American demands.
