Presented in the first weeks of June, the new Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 has embraced its carbon fiber side with the introduction of the new Bare Naked Carbon Edition (BNCE).
The carbon bodywork of the new Donkenvoort D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE drops several kilograms from the total weight of the regular car, which tips the scales at 1,543 lbs (700 kg).
The new version of the D8 GTO-JD70 is available in four different trims, with all of them leaving the carbon weave visible, and can be finished either in matt or high gloss finish. Customers can choose between green, red, blue, gold and grey, with standard or metallic looks.

The D8 GTO-JD70, which was made to celebrate the 70th birthday of the company’s founder Joop Donkervoort, is powered by an Audi Sport-sourced 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing 415 HP (420 PS / 310 kW) and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque.
Power is channeled to the wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, resulting in 2.7 and 7.7 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) and 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) respectively, as well as a 174 mph (280 km/h) top speed.
Meeting the Euro 6 D-Temp standard, the five-pot turbo unit returns 30.5 mpg US (7.7 l/100 km) on average, 19.9 mpg (11.8 l/100 km) in the city and 44.4 mpg (5.3 l/100 km) on the motorway, while emitting 191 g/km of CO2 in the WLTP cycle.
The D8 GTO-JD70 is “the world’s first 2G production car”, according to the small Dutch company, offering a maximum lateral acceleration G-force of 2.05.
Pricing for the D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE has yet to be announced, but one should expect to pay a small premium over the standard car, which starts at €198,000 ($232,201), including tax, in Europe.
