The new Porsche 911 Turbo S was subjected to a quick lap of the Hockenheim GP by SportAuto’s Christian Gebhardt, who managed to post a time faster than some seriously expensive machines.

At the end of the run, the new 911 Turbo S posted an unofficial 1:47.80. This might not mean much, but according to FastestLaps, it was quicker than the million-dollar 918 Spyder, which completed the course in 1:48.50.

It packs a new 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six that pumps out 641 HP (650 PS / 478 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque and is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that directs power to both axles.
