The impressive performance that the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S is capable of makes for a sports car that certainly punches above its weight.
A true supercar killer with a starting price of $203,500 and $216,300 for the Coupe and Cabriolet respectively, in the United States, it was recently subjected to a top speed run on the German Autobahn.
Review: 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S – The Perfect Sports Car Is Now Even Better
Without any small talk, we can see the driver approaching the car, which by the way is a Convertible, getting in, firing up the engine, putting the roof up and driving away. The video then resumes as the 911 Turbo S is approaching the highway, and you can pretty much tell where this is going: continuous acceleration, save for a few short pauses caused by traffic, to see how fast it is in the real world.
The speedometer eventually indicated 194 mph (313 km/h), and if the driver had kept it floored, we have no doubt he would have eventually seen 205 mph (330 km/h), which, according to Porsche, is its official top speed.
Aided by the advanced aerodynamics and 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, which has evolved from the Carrera’s 3.0-liter mill and puts out 641 HP (650 PS / 478 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, the new 911 Turbo S rockets to 60 mph (96 km/h) in well under 3 seconds. In fact, MotorTrend had it estimated at a whopping 2.4 seconds.
Anyway, we have the opportunity to witness its performance from the driver’s perspective, so without further ado, here’s the video.
