The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV has been spied inside and out.

As you can see, this prototype is notably different than previous models which apparently depicted the Buick Velite 7.

While the two models have a similar shape, the Bolt EUV will be distinguished a unique front fascia which apparently eschews the Velite 7’s boomerang-shaped air intakes. The model also has circular fog lights which are mounted beneath the temporary headlights and daytime running lights.

The rear end is heavily camouflaged, but it should echo the one found on the Velite 7. However, it remains unclear if the Bolt EUV will also have slender taillights which are connected by a thin illuminated strip.

One thing we do know is that the two models will have completely different interiors. While the Velite 7 has a freestanding infotainment system, the Bolt EUV has a massive touchscreen that juts out of the dashboard at an angle. The design echoes the one used in the current Bolt, but the screen is notably larger and much of the traditional switchgear has been removed. That being said, there are a couple of knobs to the left of the screen and they’re presumably for volume and tuning.

Elsewhere, we can see a push-button ignition and a steering wheel light bar which indicates this prototype has Super Cruise. Of course, that isn’t surprising, as GM has previously announced the Bolt EUV would become the first non-Cadillac model to offer the semi-autonomous driving system.

Performance specifications are still under wraps, but the model is expected to share its powertrain with the updated Bolt which will be launched next year as a 2022 model. Little is known about it, but the current Bolt has a 66 kWh battery which powers an electric motor that develops 200 hp (150 kW / 203 PS) and 266 lb-ft (361 Nm) of torque and enables the hatchback to travel up to 259 miles (417 km) on a single charge.

While a lot of questions remain unanswered, GM has already confirmed the 2022 Bolt EUV will be launched next summer.
