In Europe, people are still not shying away from buying station wagons, even though crossovers are pretty much the craze all over the globe.
Even so, the old continent features a large assortment of wagons, from both mainstream and premium car brands. With that in mind, why wouldn’t a more family-oriented version of the Toyota Camry fit right in?
This here of course is nothing more than an unofficial render, courtesy of Kolesa. They actually gave the Camry a digital Trek treatment – the same philosophy as with the real world Corolla Trek.

However, we could argue that there is room in the segment for any type of Camry wagon, be it a slightly jacked-up version or just a plain one. The latter would immediately compete against estate versions of the Ford Mondeo, VW Passat, Mazda6, Opel Insignia, Skoda Superb, Peugeot 508 and Renault Talisman.
If it would only be a Trek variant, then the Superb Scout and Passat Alltrack would be it’s main rivals – not a lot of non-premium jacked-up wagons left out there. In a way, a Camry wagon could also serve as the spiritual successor to the Venza, and perhaps a Subaru Outback rival too, although in Europe it would technically pick up where the Avensis Touring left off.
Whether you think this is a good idea or not, Toyota is unlikely to diversify its portfolio in this manner any time soon, so until further notice, the Corolla Trek is all we’ve got.
