The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Nissan GT-R, and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S are straight-line weapons. However, which is the quickest?
To find out, Throttle House gathered the trio together for a series of drag races – and the results may surprise you.
For the better part of a decade, the Nissan GT-R has been one of the most accelerative cars on the planet, capable of scrambling off the line with neck-snapping force. However, as the GT-R has aged, other vehicles have started to eclipse it off the line. Are the new Corvette and the GT 63 S among those?

In the one and only standing-start drag race featured, the trio all launch off the line with very similar velocity and for the first few hundred feet, are neck and neck. However, as the speeds begin to increase, the Corvette and GT-R start to claw their way ahead of the AMG, despite both having less power than the Mercedes. It is also very impressive how the rear-wheel drive Corvette almost keeps pace with the all-wheel drive GT-R off the line.
Then we come to a rolling race. We won’t spoil the result of this one but can tell you that it was extremely close with all three crossing the finish line just a few dozen feet from each other.
