An all-new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is in the works and these renderings provide us with a very good idea of what to expect with the new model.
It has been more than a decade since the fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee was unveiled, so to say the current model is in need of an update would be an understatement. The vehicle will be larger than the outgoing model and also look quite a bit different.

As these renderings from Kolesa show, some obvious styling inspiration will come from the Jeep Grand Commander that’s sold exclusively in China. As such, the front end will feature slimmer headlights and also include dedicated turn signals. The SUV rendered also sports a tweaked chrome grille and a secondary lower grille with a black mesh design.
Spin around to the rear and you will find new taillights that are also narrower than those used by the current Grand Cherokee.
While unconfirmed, it is claimed the new Grand Cherokee could utilize a modified version of Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform. Spy shots have led credit to these reports by revealing that the new model will get an independent rear suspension.
Engine options remain unconfirmed. What that being said, the range will probably kick off with the brand’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. This engine may or may not receive alterations but even if it doesn’t, it should produce at least the same 295 hp and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) as the current engine. Jeep has already said that it will produce a plug-in hybrid version of the new Grand Cherokee and revealed that the platform will give them the “flexibility to build fully battery-electric models in the future”.
