As we count down the days left until the launch of the 2021 Nissan Ariya on July 15, the Japanese car manufacturer has dropped the latest teaser video of the electric crossover.
The Ariya, first previewed with a striking concept car late last year, is shaping up to be quite a looker. In this teaser video, we are provided with an up-close look at the headlights of the Ariya, its prominent LED light bar at the rear, and the front fascia of the crossover.
In a world where production cars often look nothing like the concept cars that previewed them, the road-going Nissan Ariya appears to remain very true to the design of the concept. It is understood the Ariya will initially launch in Japan before becoming available in global markets such as China, Europe, and the United States.

The Nissan Ariya will use an all-electric powertrain and come complete with Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0 semi-autonomous driving system. This piece of technology takes control of the car’s acceleration, braking and steering on motorways without requiring drivers to keep their hands on the wheel at all times. Nissan wants to introduce the technology to 20 of its models in 20 markets all over the globe as part of its mid-term business plan ending on March 31, 2024.
“The highlight of the new Ariya is the fusion of electrification and advanced driver-assist technologies that is expected to develop into self-driving cars in the future,” Nissan chief executive Makoto Uchida recently said. “We expect the all-new Ariya to play a key role as brand driver and face of Nissan for the new era.”
