Nowadays, not many SUVs are equipped to go off the beaten track and handle everything that’s thrown at them. Fortunately, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is not one of them, as it has proved countless times that it’s a very capable and reliable off-roader.
Mind you, we’re not talking about the new generation 4×4, but its predecessor, in the three-door body style, which went out to prove its skills in front of the camera. Actually, the off-road prowess was not the only thing demonstrated on video, which is signed by Vossen and represents a different way of promoting a set of wheels.

Dubbed the HF-3 and priced from $549 per wheel, they are available in different sizes, including 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24 inches, with widths up to 12 inches. These are obviously not the first that come to mind when it comes to a proper off-roader like the G-Wagen, but they did prove their robustness in front of the camera. Also, unlike the usual tarmac oriented sports tires that normally hug aftermarket wheels, those rims were shod in off-road tires.
Besides going airborne towards the end of the clip, the short-roof variant of the previous-gen G-Class was thrashed around an improvised course, going through mud and water and not being afraid of getting that boxy exterior dirty and reassuring enthusiasts that age is just a number when it comes to properly-built vehicles.
