The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is no GT4, but from a performance standpoint, it is not that far behind either.

That was proven by SportAuto’s unofficial lap time of 1:56.90 posted on the Hockenheim GP circuit in the German sports car with Uwe Senner at the helm, which is equally fast to the 911 Carrera GTS and two tenths of a second quicker than the Lamborghini Urus.

The FastestLaps website also reveals that the Audi RS7 Sportback, 911 GT3 RS (997) and 911 Carrera (992) posted a lap of 1:57.30, 1:57.44 and 1:57.60 respectively, while the BMW M2 Competition, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) and Aston Martin Vantage (Mk II) lapped the course in 1:57.60, 1:57.90 and 1:57.90 respectively.

With the aforementioned lap time, the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 came three tenths of a second behind the Audi RS6 Avant and BMW M850i, and was also beaten by the Mercedes-AMG E63 S and BMW M2 CS, which posted a 1:56.00 and a 1:55.80 respectively.

The 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six that develops 394 HP (399 PS / 294 kW) and 308 lb-ft (418 Nm) of torque. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes 4.4 seconds and top speed is 182 mph (293 km/h).

U.S. pricing starts at $86,800, $13,400 less than the 414 HP 718 Cayman GT4, which does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and maxes out at 188 mph (303 km/h).
