It’s not very often that you see short-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons in the United States and there’s good reason for that; they are extraordinarily rare, making this particular example something very special indeed.

This is believed to be one of just ten W463-generaton G-Class SWB models with the V8 imported into North America by Europe G.Wagen on Santa Fe, New Mexico. It currently has 138,000 miles (222,000 km) on the clock and has collector’s car written all of it.

The Bring A Trailer listing reveals the vehicle has previously lived in Florida, Pennsylvania, California, and New York before landing in North Carolina. It was first sold on the auction site back in September 2018 but has since undergone quite a bold transformation.

Most notably, the off-roader has been fitted with a Brabus front fascia, driving lights, running boards, decorative AMG side-exit exhausts, a sliding glass sunroof, receiver hitch, and 22-inch Brabus wheels although the winning bidder will also get the standard 18-inch factory-style and a set of 18-inch five-spoke AMG wheels.

Adorning the interior are a host of black leather parts as well as a healthy dose of wood trims. The front and rear seats are also heated and there is an upgraded audio system with a subwoofer and Bluetooth connectivity.

Slotted beneath the hood is a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that produced nearly 300 hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque back in the day. This engine is coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission working alongside a four-wheel drive system, a dual-range transfer case, and three locking differentials.

The vehicle fetched $56,502 when it sold on Bring A Trailer in 2018 so it’ll be interesting to see how much it commands with all the Brabus modifications.
