The 2020 Shelby F-150 Super Snake is an absolute beast of a thing, as Throttle House recently discovered when putting one to the test in Canada.
Shelby unveiled the F-150 Super Snake to the world at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas and promptly declared that the insane pickup would make its way into production in 2020. It has now arrived and appears just as insane to drive as it is to look at.
Driving the truck is a 5.0-liter V8 that, in base form, delivers 395 hp. However, should customers want some added power, they can opt for the supercharged variant of this engine that delivers a stonking 770 hp. Shelby says that is enough to send the truck to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 3.45 seconds, a figure previously unimaginable for a vehicle of this size and scale.

Shelby though hasn’t just dropped in a big, powerful V8 and called it a day. The company has also worked extensively overhauling the suspension so it can handle that power while also taking corners with far more poise than a standard F-150. In fact, it is actually possible to drift the Super Snake through corners, even though it doesn’t look particularly easy to do so.
Then there are the looks. Adorning the exterior are a number of eye-catching parts, including a bulging hood and the inclusion of a new front grille and various air intakes.
As it stands, this is perhaps the craziest pickup truck currently on the market. However, Ram will soon release its Rebel TRX with a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8, and it could prove to be the perfect rival to the Super Snake.
