The Rimac C_Two is inching closer to production and the company has released a new teaser video which suggests the model will be a blast to drive.
In the clip, which won’t win any Oscars for acting, the Rimac team discusses the car’s development and handling.
During the course of the conversation, Mate Rimac says “We are not going to compensate the vehicle dynamics with a torque vectoring algorithm. The car has to drift and slide and drive really well on its own, before we put torque vectoring on it.”
Everyone then looks at test driver Miroslav Zrnčević who is tasked with showing how well the car performs without the electronic nannies. The video then cuts to the car drifting around a track without the use of driver aids.

The C_Two, as you may recall, features a 120 kWh battery pack that powers four electric motors. This gives the model all-wheel drive as well as a combined output of 1,888 hp (1,408 kW / 1,914 PS) and 1,696 lb-ft (2,300 Nm) of torque. This should enable the car to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 1.85 seconds and onto a top speed of 258 mph (412 km/h). The car is also slated to have a range of 342 miles (550 km) in the WLTP cycle.
Last month, Rimac completed construction of a new production line which will enable them to build four production models a month when running at full capacity. However, that’s still a ways off as they still need to build prototypes testing and homologation purposes as well as ten pre-production models.
Given this and the coronavirus pandemic, Rimac has pushed the car’s launch to 2021. However, the final model’s name and design will be unveiled later this year.
