We’ve always been suckers for proper off-roaders, especially ones with more power than initially intended and a few modern touches, and this classic Land Rover Defender 90 would fit the description just fine, except for one thing: it’s a replica.
Built from scratch by Osprey Custom Cars at the request of the owner who wanted a “classic but modern, one-of-a-kind soft-top”, it features a galvanized chassis, custom suspension, radiator and exhaust, and a Corvette-sourced 6.2-liter LS3 V8 that pumps out 430 HP and 424 lb-ft (575 Nm) of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Mirroring the looks of the original Land Rover Defender, the exterior is finished in light blue with a brown soft top, and boast several aftermarket parts signed by Kahn, such as the wide body kit, headlamp surrounds and additional vents. Two LED lamps were incorporated on each side of the steel front bumper and this 4×4 also has steel side steps and rear bumper, 18-inch wheels shod in all-terrain tires and a roll cage that protects the occupants in case something goes wrong.
The cabin stays true to the real iconic British SUV and features four individual seats, brown leather upholstery with diamond stitching, aluminum control knobs, push-button transmission shifter and a custom center console with cup holders. The vehicle also gets a reversing camera hooked up to the touchscreen infotainment system, which has Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.
Despite looking like a restomod and going like stink, this is a replica, so has the owner made the right decision when they decided to go for it instead of restoring an older Defender? That’s for you to decide while scrolling through the generous image gallery shared below.
