A 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss is currently up for auction and is expected to sell for between €1.9 million and €2.2 million ($2.1 million – $2.5 million).

Mercedes-Benz only ever built 75 examples of the SLR Stirling Moss as a homage to the fabled 300 SLR which Sir Stirling Moss drove to victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia.

The RM Sotheby’s listing reveals that this particular example left the factory in December 2009 as a European-specification model and was delivered to Luxemburg. It is finished in a shade of Antimony Grey Crystal and sports an interior clad in black and leather accents.

After being sold by the original owner, the car was purchased by a notable collector in the Middle East and later acquired by the current consignor in 2019. It is said to be in excellent condition and has just 9,000 km (~5,600 miles) on its odo. It also participated in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz 1000 Miglia challenge.

The car will be sold with numerous accessories including goggles in their original bags, hats, tonneau covers, and service manuals. Moreover, it was most recently serviced in February 2020 at Mercedes-Benz Brussels.

Each and every SLR Stirling Moss produced left the factory with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 that was updated to 651 hp, 10 hp more than the SLR 722 Edition. The adoption of a speedster style also means the SLR Stirling Moss is 200 kg (440 lbs) lighter than regular SLR models.
