After months of anticipation, Ford will finally unveil the 2021 Bronco and Bronco Sport tonight at 8 pm EST.
To say it’s been a long time coming is an understatement as has Ford has previously postponed the unveiling twice. The first was caused by the coronavirus, while the second delay was to avoid O.J. Simpson’s birthday.
Of course, the delays haven’t hampered the enthusiasm as leak after leak has proved there’s plenty of interest in the new Bronco lineup. That understandably has Jeep worried and you can see that in today’s unveiling of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 concept and rumors suggesting the company is planning a series of updates for the 2021 Wrangler.

That being said, the enthusiasm for the Bronco is electrifying and the model will follow in the footsteps of the original which was launched 55 years ago. While it will be all-new, the model pays tribute to the classic off-roader as it features circular headlights and relatively flat bodywork with pronounced wheel arches. The model also sports a removable roof and vertical taillights just like its predecessor.
While we can’t reveal details quite yet, rumors have suggested the Bronco will be offered with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that produces 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. Speculation has also indicated there will be a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 325 hp (242 kW / 330 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.
More importantly, previous pictures have revealed the Bronco will be offered with a seven-speed manual transmission that has a crawler gear for off-roading. We can also expect a ten-speed automatic gearbox, locking differentials and an electronic sway bar disconnect.
The Bronco Sport, on the other hand, is a small off-roader that has a lot in common with the Escape. This includes its engine lineup which is slated to consist of a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder with 180 hp (134 kW / 182 PS) and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 250 hp (186 kW / 253 PS).
You can watch the unveiling here shortly and we’ll have full details at 8 pm.
