It’s been a few months since spy photographers last caught the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, but the model has returned to the Nürburgring with a few extra goodies.
Looking decidedly more aggressive than the standard 718 Cayman GT4, the RS features a new hood with NACA ducts. That isn’t the only change as the front fenders appear wider and feature camouflage up top. This suggests they could vents similar to the ones used on sporty versions of the 911.
Moving further back, we can see center locking wheels which cover a high-performance braking system with massive discs and yellow calipers. The rear quarter glass has also been replaced by scoops which direct air to the car’s mid-mounted engine.

The rear end largely carries over, but there’s a massive wing which is unique to the RS variant. We can also see what appears to be a new exhaust system.
Porsche has been tight-lipped about the upcoming model, but it’s expected to use an upgraded version of the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that resides in the 718 Boxster Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4. In those models, it produces 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. This allows them to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and onto a top speed of up to 189 mph (304 km/h).
There’s no word on how much the power the 718 Cayman GT4 RS will have, but rumors have suggested anywhere from 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) to 493 hp (368 kW / 500 PS). However, we’re sure Porsche won’t let it encroach too far into 911 territory.
