McLaren’s latest electric toy is a Senna ‘Ride-On’, boasting working dihedral doors, working brakes with brake light elements, an infotainment system and realistic Senna engine sounds.

You can order yours (or your kid’s, most likely) right now for $582 in the U.S., or £375 ($491) in the UK. So while you can see F1 driver Lando Norris posing inside the Senna Ride-On, the toy is aimed at 3 to 6-year olds.

The Senna Ride-On is the third car in McLaren’s range of children’s models after the P1 and 720S.

You can have it in one of six available official liveries, one of which (yellow with green accents) echoes Ayrton Senna’s race helmet and is exclusively sold through the carmaker’s retailer network. The other colors are black, white, Mira orange, Vega blue and Memphis red.

Once your child is inside, they can start their drive by using the authentic push-button start, which in turn activates the Senna engine sound. They can also listen to music played through an infotainment system that can access files from a USB device or SD card.

McLaren believe that the Senna Ride-On will become “one of the most coveted automotive toys of 2020 and beyond,” which sounds plausible given how popular its life-sized counterpart is. The regular Senna still stands as one of most exciting hypercars of these past couple of years, thanks to its very advanced aerodynamics and its 789 HP (800 PS) 4.0-liter twin turbo V8.
